Hmm... I guess it just wasn't the right day for baking...

Yesterday, I made an attempt to bake chocolate cookies... and well, I have no idea how it happened, but I got one huge cookie instead. Perhaps I didn't give them enough space in the baking tray. Oh well... one can't always be successful, right? I cut the huge cookie into pieces and it didn't taste too bad, but I won't dare to try that recipe again.

They look like brownies. That's not all bad!

Yes, they do look a bit like brownies, but not quite... brownies are supposed to be softer.

We'll eat them, though :) They taste alright.

That's hilarious! I've had so many baking fiascos, I could write a novel about them. I've really done some strange things with flour and leavening.

For what it's worth, they look good! I will sometimes bake cookies as bars, when I'm short on time. I like them that way.

Serena: oh, I'm sure many people would crack their bellies if they heard about my early attempts in baking... however, I think I'm doing pretty well for someone who only a year ago found it difficult to boil an egg.

Aww, thanks for your sweet comment, Anna. These don't look bad, like several others said, they do look like brownies. Hey, they are chocolate, they can't be bad:)

Ah, yes, baking mishaps.......I remember the first time I tried cookies all by myself. I was about 11, I think. I forgot to put in the flour, & didn't have enough experience to recognize that the dough didn't feel right. Into the oven they went, and within 30 seconds they were dripping all over the oven floor. It was such a mess!! I can still see the look on my mother's face. She tried so hard not to be upset with me. We did laugh about that one for a long time afterwards! :)

I'm sorry Anna, I had to laugh when I saw this! Not at your "failure" but because it reminds me of everytime my housemate and I attempt to bake cookies! We end up with goodness knows what each time.... It's quite amusing really, and funnily enough, they always taste nice even if they are a bit, er, odd...!

Had to laugh, not at you, but at myself. I have done the same thing, so many times. I guess it is part of learning to be a housewife. Hopefully we will get these quirks out, before we actually become one, eh?
I finally figured out, what it was that made mine so flat, and smooge together. I either added too much butter, or, not enough flour. It happens alot. WE don't use white flour very much, and I grind my own wheat flour, so I sometimes forget to gring enough! It is all fun though!

Hi Collin :) Good to see you here.

You probably meant you're Autumn's brother, though? :)
