Another hello from a summer gone by

park1, originally uploaded by Anna's musings.

The Israeli summer is boiling hot, but so beautiful. It remains my favorite season even on days when heat makes it difficult to breathe.

Many things are on my mind - and hopefully, they will be shared in the next few days. We are in the middle of our busy mundane life here in Israel, but to the rest of you - I hope you are enjoying your holiday season!

I would like to take another opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to all the ladies who have emailed me during the weekend. You are so wonderful. Your sweet words truly made my day.

I feel so stupid for asking, but is it summer time there for y'all right now? And do y'all have winters with snow or is it hot all year round?

USA,

It's winter here now, but our winters are warm. We have rains during winter and draught from May till October. It snows in some parts of Israel, though, like in the north or in Jerusalem.

Anna:

Is that beautiful tree in this post currently in bloom? Also, what sort of tree is it?

Here in central OH, USA (north Columbus, OH suburbs to be more exact), all trees, shrubs, flowers, etc., except for evergreens and ornamental grasses are pretty much leafless or dead by November and don't start returning until the end of March. So the tree and other plants and greenery in the picture look particularly inviting right now. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Anna,
I have some thoughts I would love to share with you sometime about how your site has led me to rethink my stand on a specific topic you have talked about in past/recent posts. I am in the process of trying to collect my thoughts onto paper before I write you. But know this, your blog challenges the mind. And it has challenged me to think adn rethink thru some issues more closely.
I truly am thankful for having met you on here.

I was wondering what that beautiful tree is, too. These photos of Israel that you've been so generously sharing have been very soothing to me, what with our snow/rain/fog/rain/cloudy weather lately!

How beautiful! Praise the Lord for giving us such a creation! :)

What kind of tree is that? Are they native to Israel?

I didn't know Jerusalem got snow!

Hmm. Which tree is that? Good question. :)

Pretty!! Looks so inviting. We have oodles of snow here -- back home after the festivities with the family. It'll be awhile before we have any trees in bloom.
