Work in progress....

We are working on a long-postponed project - getting our storage shed in order. I have taken some pictures and hope to share them soon, perhaps even before Rosh Ha-Shana. It might seem funny to some of you that I'm so enthusiastic about an organized storage shed, but keep in mind that we live in a tiny house and any bit of extra storage space is priceless and gives me more room to breathe.

Our living room is currently full of cardboard boxes and piles of items that need to be sorted - it looks as though we are moving. It will be all well-worth it, though, once we are done! We got rid of mountains of junk left from the family who lived here previously.

So much to do... I'm off for now!

Anna, I giggled as I read your excitement about storage space, as I'm the same way. Would you believe I find going to the office supply store for more organizational supplies to be an exhilarating experience? A bit sad but true. :o)

O, dear Anna, I have the same situation at home now. It's only that my hubby made pantry shells we haven't have before, and all stuff (so many things!) is all around the house. And my little ones are enjoying, taking and putting stuff all around the house... It will take some time to fix...
And I am canning now... Oh, you womenhood bloggers! You "made" me become advanced homemaker!!! Hahaha! Just joking. Loving every moment of it.

In my humble opinion, there are very few things quite as satisfying as organizing or reorganizing an area. Enjoy yourself!

Hi Anna! I've been reading your blog for a few weeks and REALLY enjoying it, but I'm not sure if I've left a comment yet... So hello! Nice to "meet" you :-D

I completely understand your excitement over an organization project. An clean, ordered home improves my attitude SO MUCH.

Yes indeed! I understand the "every small bit of storage space counts" mindset! Like you, I've been working hard for the past three years to get **someone elses junk** out of hearth and home so I could move in and organize. It's finally coming to an end. I'd love a storage shed but no hope ~ not here with gale-force winds that ruin everything that's not made of concrete or stone!!

I know how you feel. I have a larger home but strive constantly to keep it free of clutter. I have been working hard on some bigger home improvement projects like exterior painting, siding repair and replacing some of the rotting basement windowsills. I admit that there's something very satisfying about working on my home; it's more personal than hiring someone to do. To be able to stand back and see my accomplishment in a freshly painted porch or a repaired step makes me appreciate my home all the more. Good luck with your projects; I know it's a lot of work but in the end it will be that much more of a haven for you and your family.

I spent all day yesterday cleaning out one room of my apartment from stuff I have accumulated over the past 12+ years since I have been on my own. eek!! I threw out 6 garbage bags full of non-donatable stuff and I have a huge pile of donatable items that need to be carried out to the car to take up to Goodwill on Monday morning. whew! But the room looks so much more organized. Now I am working on taking a bunch of stuff I kept to make scrapbooks with and actually putting them in scrapbooks! Got one done last night so I am halfway there! :)

I share your excitement for the extra storage space. We have 10 people living in a house with very, very little storage space. We are always trying to find new ways to store our may things.
