Goodies

Chocolate cake balls made from leftover marble cake that had dried up a bit. If you've never heard of cake balls, here's the general idea.
Oatmeal peanut butter cookies, with chocolate chips replaced this time by a healthier variation of raisins and dried cranberries. Shira helped crack the eggs and stir in the cranberries and raisins. :o)

We had a delightful time.

Yummy! Thanks for linking to your old recipe; my daughter and I were just wondering what kind of cookies to make... you managed to get all our favorites in one cookie! Oatmeal, peanut butter, and we're going with the less-healthy chocolate chip version, though I have a hunch the raisin/craisin combo will be a hit with us, too.

(also will be a tasty Christmas gift)

Love cake balls! Have you ever checked out the blogger Bakerella? She does cake pops (basically cake balls on a stick)... they're too cute!

Both treats look so good, Anna. And how cute that Shira was helping you! I still have such fond memories of my first daughter helping me in the kitchen. While the baby had her morning nap, the two of us would make some bread, or cookies or whatever. It still makes me smile to remember that time!

Those cake balls are a great idea. What a good way to use leftover cake.
