Defying the insufferably hot weather, I made apple pie.
And here are our 6-week-old chicks. Or should I call them pullets? It's difficult to get a good picture of them because they move around the yard so much, but they have already lost all their baby fuzz and got feathers in all sorts of pretty patterns.

The chicks...um, just call 'em cute. Your pies look positively edible! Have a great week!
Pretty pie! Hopefully you had some ice cream to go with it, to keep you cool! :-)
Technically they are pullets when they begin to lay their first eggs (tiny round eggs called 'pullet eggs') but have not yet moulted.
The common term for the very first egg a chicken lays is a "pullet surprise". Yes, really.
You are a better woman than I! I can't even think of baking in this weather! The pies look lovely! Wuld you mind re-posting your recipe for homemade ice-cream?
Kim:)
