Baby bump

babybump 008, originally uploaded by Anna's musings.

Hello, ladies! I hope everyone had a lovely, relaxed weekend. My husband and I spent a wonderful first Shabbat in our new home - in the previous two weeks, we have been invited elsewhere.

This is not a very good picture - it took a while for Grandma to master the basics of digital camera use - but I decided it must finally be taken, to capture my little "halfway" baby bump. :-)

As you can see I'm not very big yet - not to the extent that people in the bus would hurry to give up their seat for me - but you can definitely tell I'm pregnant! I've been getting rounder and rounder in the past few weeks, and have outgrown many of my clothes. I borrowed a few things from Mom, and also bought a few lovely, feminine, stretchy items that can comfortably accommodate a growing tummy.

The movements of this tiny one are becoming more and more pronounced; it feels like someone is tickling me from the inside! I'm thoroughly enjoying these first interactions, and look forward to the moment when movement can be felt by placing a hand on my tummy, so that my husband and family can say hello to the baby as well.

I hope all of you have been enjoying the last days of summer. We are at the end of summer vacation here in Israel, but still look forward to many lovely, sunny days, which can be enjoyed by making time for a picnic or a walk on the beach.

What a sweet picture!! You look lovely. I am so glad you are enjoying this time and I look forward to the day you can write all about your new little one with the same insight you right about everything else.

That's a great picture, Anna! The important part of a photo is capturing the moment, and you'll be able to remember this one forever! :)

Anna- I was not very "big" when I was as far along as you, either. First time moms (and those who are in relatively good shape) usually "grow" more slowly with pregnant tummies. In fact, there was nothing at all until 28 weeks--and even with that, most people (unless we told them) didn't realize I was pregnant until I was seven months! Praying that you continue happy and healthy!

How exciting!!

My lil bugs always seemed to stop moving as soon as I tried to share! But this one loves to kick daddy. I put my belly up against his back and she kicks and kicks him while he falls asleep lol.

Dear Anna,
I have been visiting your blog for a long time but I don't know if I ever posted. I love your blog, it is always so inspiring. I was very happy when I knew you were pregnant and I loved your picture.
Many blessings to you

My mom is the same way with digital cameras...oh
Last year I wanted her to take pitures of this or that and even after I showed her a million times she would get frustrated and walk off to get her one time use

Love the picture! You are just glowing! Hallelujah!

The LORD bless and keep you!

Thank you for sharing a picture Anna! I remember with my first it took forever for me to begin to show... I went shopping for maternity clothes when I was in my sixth month and the lady behind the register where I paid felt she had to inform me that these were maternity clothes! I insisted I was pregnant and that I was looking for maternity clothes! :) It wasn't until near the end of my seventh month that I really started to look pregnant... :)

Blessings on you and your little one,

Oh, how exciting! With my youngest (7 months), I didn't show much until I was 6 or 7 months pregnant. It was fun when neighbors were so shocked about a month before the little Busker Boo was born. Hee hee! Enjoy this time! It truly is miraculous!

Dear Anna,

I pray for you and your precious family daily! May God continue to bless you with many more moments of awe and miraculous wonder all of your life.

May I please ask that all the ladies of your blog pray for us...I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and we are going to be hit by Hurricane Gustav in just a few hours' time. (There is more information on my blog, So many people here are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina, and now another disastrous storm. Thanks be to God, millions today evacuated out of harm's way.

Thank you,

Hi Anna! This is such a beautiful picture of you! Thank you for posting it. The last pictures you posted of yourself was of you in you wedding dress if I recall. It's nice to be able to get a new picture of you now that you have your little one on the way! I've read and was told by my doctor that quite often when it's a first baby and the mother is petite the "baby bump" isn't extremely evident until 7 or 8 months.

You look great, Anna. Nobody except those closest to me could have known that I was pregnant until my third trimester. I recall going to the dentist when I was twenty four weeks-ish and telling them they couldn't do an x-ray due to my pregnancy and the hygienist asked where I was hiding the baby. LOL. In the last picture I have of myself pregnant, mere hours before I gave birth, I'm not even that big. Granted I was only thirty five weeks, but still!

Look at that! The happily married pregnant lady!! I can totally tell that you're pregnant because a thin woman like you would not have a belly! I just started my 7th month and I'm really sticking out now but I STILL just look like I'm plus-size hahahaha! Arrrg!

The other day while we were out shpping in town I was walking back to the truck with my hands on my back and my belly sticking out and I suddenly froze and started to roar with laughter. Erlend said, "What's wrong?" and I screeched, "I'M TOTALLY DOING THE PREGNANT LADY WADDLE!!!!"

I'm so glad that the baby things made it to you! I tried to pick out neutral colors and I hope they work. The lady's bonnet is so cute, isn't it? I bought it from a historical catalog so it's actually a real historical design from Colonial America! (1700's)

I just returned from a lonnnnng walk. Well, long when you have pelvis-itis but I'm so blessed that I can still go for relatively long walks. I visited with our young cattle along the way as I passed their fields. I love how I can go up to the gate and they come over for a sniff and a hello! Oddly enough they always sniff at my pregnant belly! It's like... they know I'm "in calf" hahahaha!

Erlend is out harvesting the barley so it'll be a long night before he gets in. I'm sad that yet again the house is trashed... I've been ill with a virus due to the stress of being bullied with all this "high risk pregnancy" stuff and so I've been sleeping through most days. Then I get up and I force myself to eat and I go for a good, challenging walk. Meanwhile the house piles up with clutter... **Sigh** If only I had some younger nieces or cousins that I could hire for housework help!! Yet even still, my sweet husband is so understanding and kind. Today, yet again, I was sound asleep when he came in for dinner at 1pm. Without an ounce of resentment he finished up the things I had had to abandon (cooking the potatoes, setting table, etc) and then he woke me at 2:30 and served me dinner while I sat in a chair in the livingroom looking like death warmed over. I AM SO BLESSED BY THIS MAN!

Well, my baby sends his/her hello's to your baby! God bless!! I'm off to bed again hahahaha! I pretty much live there this week!
