CoverYourHair Giveaway

Many of you have probably noticed CoverYourHair, a site I have listed on my sidebar under "modesty resources". They sell a variety of cute hair-coverings in styles that are popular in Israel. Recently, I was contacted by Rebecca from CoverYourHair, who asked if I would be interested to review a couple of their products and host a giveaway on my blog. Of course, I was delighted.

Head scarves - much like my usual style. Head scarves are without a doubt my favorite type of head covering. Light, versatile, you can tie them in a variety of ways, and they are suitable for any length of hair. And their prices are usually within the reasonable range. The ones you can see here are folded in a triangle, and tied in a simple way - instructions here. They are made of light, breathing material and are perfect for the summer. Note: the beginners will want to experiment with the tying of the head scarf to make sure it's firmly in its place and won't slip off, but once you master it, it's really a piece of cake.

Here is a head covering that is new to me - a pre-tied bandana, very convenient - no ties, no knots, just put it on! It's made of lycra so it's slightly hotter than the head scarves, but I like it all the same. It is a bit tight for someone with a mass of hair such as mine, though (mine falls nearly to my knees!) - I'm not sure if you can tell.
And now we come to the matter of the giveaway! CoverYourHair will offer the winner a free $100 box of surprise hair accessories. How do you enter? It's very simple:

Visit CoverYourHair, then return, comment on this post and write which products you would especially like to receive. You are, of course, welcome to spread the message among your head-covering friends who don't normally read this blog, so they can participate too. On Sunday, the entry will be closed and I will randomly select a winner in the next couple of days after that. The lucky lady will then have to email me her mailing address. You don't need to have a blog to participate - just don't comment anonymously, please, because then I will have no way to tell you from other participants; use at least some sort of nickname.

You can also:
1) Join Google Friend Connect for CoverYourHair: Scroll down the home page, click "join this site" in the Google Friend Connect box.
2) Become a Fan of Cover Your Hair on Facebook: Click (free item always being offered)
3) Follow on twitter: Click

Good luck!

I love the website, and have been a long-time lurker on your blog. God has been tugging my heart to start covering my hair, but I have to admit that I'm a huge chicken doing it. So, I'd like to have those Berets because it would be a great way of covering up without being all that obvious (yet.). Thank you and God bless!

My man and I have recently decided that once I'm married I'll be covering. I really need to get a few more headcoverings before then!!

I like the headbands, especially the scrunch ones. I've never tried a tiechel before, but think it would be interesting--my favorite is the blue floral. I also think the Double Clips with Jewels are really pretty!

Great idea for a giveaway--thanks! :)

It's neat about the giveaway!

I really like their wide headbands, especially the paisley kind. I'm obsessed with paisley patterns.

Thanks for a chance to win! :)

This is so neat!

I like the tichel (silver lurex with stripes and fringes, both types, as well as the multi colored striped ones with fringes, and the solid ones.)

I kinda have a thing for stripes.

I love their site! I bought a lot of similar tiechels when I was in Israel but sadly, no pre-taid scarves so I would love any or all of the ones they have online!

Deborah said...

They're all so beautiful! I like the Israeli tichels, especially the colored paisley, flowery, flowered, and solid ones. The turquoise polka and striped pre tied bandanas also are very pretty.

Thanks for having a contest! We recently started covering for church. It was a relief to finally get off the fence and do it, but it does make me a little self-conscious since we are the only ones!

We like the wide pre-tied head bands, tiechels, and untied headbands

Oh gosh, what isn't to like? They have so many pretty things! I don't consistantly keep my head covered, but it is something that has been gently calling me for quite some time now. I found a huge wish list! :)

I like the snoods and I think the tichels would be very wonderful, I found a bunch of colours I liked. :) I'm glad they put the sizing on the site so maybe I can try to make my own someday. :)

God Bless!

What a great resource. Thanks for sharing it with us. I love the variety!

Neat idea!

In general, I love chaponnes because the brims work well with my face shape, but I've recently discovered the joys of untied triangle bandanas as well. So much fun!

I have really enjoyed reading your blog - my daughter and I are really enjoying Becky's story and looking forward to more!

As for the head scarves - I like the Israeli Tiechels, pre-tied bandannas, berets, and snoods.

What a wonderful idea! I've been looking their site, but haven't order anything, yet.

I especially like the Tiechels and headbands, specially the cotton ones, one colored or not. But paisley isn't my favorite... And all kind of clips and other asessories are great, too.

Mrs. Bridget G. said...

I love the tichels and the headbands. Whatever! I can work with any covering!!!

I am so excited about this giveaway. I love their paisley tichels. So beautiful. I only have a few headcoverings right now and could really use a few more. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

I'm a Christian and have never worn any type of headcovering but just this week my husband and I were reading a passage in the bible that had us talking about it and me looking into options for covering during worship. I really like the paisley wide headbands.

SheaLynne said...

Oh this is lovely. I hope the lucky lady enjoys such a surprise very much.

I have been studying the issue of headcovering for some time and am just beginning to add to my collection of headcoverings.

I made a terribly greedy list from looking at the site, but my favorites are the white pull on hat with flower applique, and the beautiful Tiechels.

What a fun way to market the site. Thanks, Anna!

What a wonderful contest, Anna!
Thank you for this chance!

Oh! And here are some of my favorites:

Multi Colored Striped Tichel with Fringes

Flowery Cotton Tichel Square Tichel WITHOUT FRINGES Brown

Printed Blue Tiechel with Silver Lurex Strips and

Really, any of the colored paisleys are so very pretty too. I would love to own and use any of them!!

Thanks again!

What a cool promotion! I have been drooling over their flowery tiechels ever since I found their site on your link list.

Claudia J said...

I just love their site. I would like to try the soft pull on hats. I have hair that is mid thigh. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

I especially like the new "flowery" tichels. I tend to wear solid colors so having a pattern on my head is a nice way to mix it up. However, I own nearly ALL solid scarves and would love something different. Thanks for offering this giveaway!

mamajuliana said...

I already own a few of their pre-tied bandanas- light one for summer.

BUT...I would really love to have the black heavier pre-tied bandanas for winter!

I have tried other coverings, but the pre-tieds are the easiest for me. my scarf covering keep coming undone-even with a LOT of pins!

I read you blog often and really enjoy your posts!

Hello Anna. I don't usually enter give-aways. But since you first posted about covering you hair, when you were engaged, I have really like this site. However thrilled I was, my husband was even less thrilled with the price.

So, here I am, entering this give-away and I'm hoping to win it! I have been covering my hair for about 9 years now, so I'm way past worrying about "sticking out". *smile*

I really like the solid color tichels. They look very comfortable to wear and the colors are very pretty and feminine. My hair is not quite as long as yours (I can almost sit on it) and after 5 (soon to be 6!) children, my hair is not as thick as it used to be. So I don't think that it would be too tight.

Thanks again for this chance!

Great contest! Looove those triangle headbands.

Sara said...

Great giveaway! I would love a pre-tied bandana. (I am really surprised that your hair could all fit in, if it is that long! I have tried on many of these in stores in Israel, and I can't get all my hair in it. I would love one big enough for me.)

Anonymous said...

I absolutely love that site and I'm always trying to scrape up enough money to treat myself to a new wide headband. I wear those almost exclusively around the house and on errands, and since I only have a few of them, I would REALLY like to have a bigger variety! Especially with some autumn/winter colors or fabrics because the light, summery ones are awesome but we're moving into the cooler seasons now. And unfortunately I don't have enough money to buy any cold season ones. Boo. I'm crossing my fingers for the win!

Kalanit said...

I like the pre-tied headbands and paisley tichels. I can never have too many Israeli tichels!

I have already visited this Web Site numerous times, just browsing through all of the lovely head coverings. I am new to head covering and would like some new coverings, seeing as how I only have one that I can really wear right now. I have shawls that I wear in the evening, but nothing that quite "fits" nicely, if you know what I mean.

After looking at the Site again, I came to the conclusion that my 3 favorite styles are the Israeli Tiechels, the pre-tied bandannas, and the snoods (mostly because they cover all of the hair, which is what I like).

I like the snoods and the Chaponnes. I've been curious about head covering for some time, and have been off and on. A question, though - does all your hair need to be covered, or do you just have to be wearing some sort of hat/scarf?

I would love to enter! Not for me though (I am not married ;)Though I do like headbands. Anyway, I would like to enter as a surprise for my mom. She likes snoods best. Thank you!

Raine said...

I like the scrunch headbands, especially the brown & purple because those are my favorite colors.

The pull on hats are also really cute, especially the blue & wine colors, and I'd love to try a tichel sometime, but I'm waiting until my hair's a little longer, to help it stay put. :)

Shalom, Mrs. Anna T!
I have been wanting to cover my head for awhile. Just need to get to a place to purchase one, learn how to tie it, etc. And this contest came up!
Thank you so much for this contest. I love the tichels and the pre-tied bandanas. Since I am a "winter" in my coloring, I esp. like the navy flower tied bandana, and the solid navy pre-tied one. The golden honey on black velvet looks elegant for Shabbat. I like the tichels with the lurex stripes also.
Good Shabbos,

I love the All-Around Pre-Tied headbands, the Summer Flowers Pre-Tied Headbands, the Paisley Wide PRe-Tied Heabands, the Scrunch Wide Headbands, and the Silver Flowers Pr-Tied Headband.

*Laugh* Sorry--that was rather a mouthful.

God bless, Mrs. T!

I would also like to try out some of the pre-tied the applique style #1 is particularly fetching. Thank you so much Anna, for sharing your insights, they have often given me great encouragement as I make my home and care for my little ones.

Ooh...what a great give-away! I so hope I win this one because I love head coverings (though it's not a conviction-just so much fun to do).

The "Feather Lite Summer Crochet Berets" look very cute...I like the lacy look. I also really like the wool "Quality Flower Beret With Lining".

I've never worn a Tiechel but I do wear scarves a lot so I'm sure they're done much the same way. So I'd love to try those out too.

I actually have a few of the tichels on my birthday/holiday wish list (I combine them since my birthday and winter holiday are so close together)

I LOVE the solid colored tichels; the cream one, the deep purple, and the maroon one are my favorites.
The paisley tichels I would love to have one in every color LOL
And the flowery cotton tichels in beautiful classic black and white are, to me, every day staples. Going out the door last second? Wake up late? The black-and-white flowered tichels could be thrown on with no worries.

The pre-tied bandanas with the appliques are really elegant. I love style #3 - it makes me think of winter.
The Soft Apple Pre-Tied Bandana and the Turiqoise & Live Buzz Pre-Tied Bandana are so playful! They remind me of being on summer vacation when I was in school.

Thank you for letting people know about this contest on your blog!

I like the solid-color tiechels with fringes!

MamaOlive said...

I'd probably get one of each color tichel. This site looks like the one that used to be named tzinus (or something like that - the Hebrew for modesty) where I got my snood.
May I ask how you get your hair into a bun before tying the tichel? My hair is also very long and thick and I've never been able to get it to stay up.

MamaOlive said...

I also joined Google friend connect AND became a fan on Facebook. Does that give me two more entries? :-)

I really love the tichels! What an awesome give-away :-)

eriko said...

Long-time reader here, now in de-lurking mode. :-)
I am new to covering, still not doing it full time as I am working and for me to change this drastically might very well end my job. *sigh* SO, as soon as I leave work at the end of the day, I scurry to my car and cover my head. Sad, I know. But I am a work in progress! (as is my hair. I haven't cut it since November 2008 and it's *finally getting long enough to make a sad little pony tail)

I love the flowery tichels and the paisley ones too. and the berets! Beautiful stuff.

I just wanted you to know I started following your blog. I have been reading around this site for a while, but just recently started my own blog. I'd appreciate it if you could come by sometime :) God bless!

What a fantastic idea for a giveaway! I've been wanting to try the Israeli tiechels, pre-tied headbands, and pre-tied bandanas. I'm still working out how to keep my hair covered without getting uncomfortable. The trouble is, I tend to get headaches from having my hair pulled into a bun or ponytail under my scarf. An updo, like a French twist, doesn't give headaches, but I haven't found a way to cover an updo without looking...lumpy. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Anna, for hosting the giveaway!
